The four-hour Private Charter releases the entire vessel to one couple or family, allowing custom routing toward Nusa Lembongan silhouettes, anchored swim stops, and a personalised menu including Wagyu, fresh-line tuna, or a vegan tasting flight. Ideal occasions and who this is for
The Bali sunset cruise format works best for proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, babymoons, and small celebration dinners of two to fourteen guests. It is a poor fit for hen and stag groups looking for bottle service and loud music; for those we redirect to dedicated party catamarans out of Benoa. We also advise against sunset cruises for guests in their first trimester, anyone with severe vertigo, or families with infants under twelve months unless the vessel has a proper enclosed saloon. Best months and weather windows
Bali has a clear dry season from May to October when sunset cruises run almost daily with a high probability of clean horizon visibility. The shoulder months of April and November are still strong, with afternoon clouds usually lifting by 17:00. The wet season from December to March produces some of the most dramatic skies of the year but with a higher chance of cancellation due to swell at Benoa entry. We treat October-as-honeymoon-prime and August-as-photography-prime as our two recommendation defaults; if your dates fall in January or February we book later afternoon departures and add a backup land-based dinner at Jimbaran as a contingency.
What is included and what is not
A standard inclusion sheet covers harbour transfers from south Bali hotels, marina port fees, welcome drink, multi-course dinner, two house pours per guest, dessert, and live or curated music. Excluded from most listings are premium spirits, champagne by the bottle, bespoke proposal styling, professional photography, and helicopter departure transfer. We arrange any of these as add-ons. We never include hotel pick-up from Ubud, Canggu, or the north of the island in a base price because the round-trip drive degrades the romance of the night; for those locations we propose a one-night south-Bali stopover or a private chauffeur with refresh time at the marina lounge.
Booking timeline and lead time
For July-August and the December holiday peak we recommend booking at least eight weeks ahead. Shoulder season can typically be confirmed within seven to ten days. Last-minute private charters do open up due to cancellations, especially mid-week, and we maintain a watch-list for couples on tight itineraries. A surprise proposal benefits from a fourteen-day lead so we can co-ordinate a discreet ring-bearer crew member, a hidden videographer, and a return-leg cake. Pure dinner cruises with no styling can be confirmed in 48 hours subject to vessel availability.
